European Oak Timber Cladding
With its golden-brown tones and distinctive grain, European Oak brings timeless elegance to any exterior. Naturally durable, it weathers beautifully to a soft silver-grey over time
Key properties
European Oak is a premium hardwood cladding choice, combining timeless beauty with long-lasting performance.
- Clean, refined finish
Supplied as a finger-jointed product for a smooth, almost knot-free appearance with minimal defects. - Exceptional stability
Reduced internal tension makes longer 6.0m boards less prone to twisting or warping over time. - Naturally durable
Hard-wearing and built to last, European Oak is ideal for exterior applications in all seasons. - Elegant golden tones
Freshly machined boards offer a warm, golden hue that naturally weathers to a soft silver-grey. - Distinctive grain
Straight-grained with a fine texture, adding character and sophistication to any façade. - Tannin awareness
As with all oak, natural tannins may cause some surface staining; thoughtful detailing helps manage water runoff and maintain a clean finish.

Fixings
For the best results, we recommend using corrosion-resistant stainless steel fixings -A2 or A4 grade – to meet EN 10088-1 standards.
Fixings should suit the thickness of your cladding boards and provide a secure hold.
For softwood cladding, annular ring shank nails are ideal. You’ll find full installation and fixing guidance, including batten specifications, available here.

There is no strict minimum order with Benchmark, so we can supply anything from a single metre of timber to large project quantities. Very small orders may include a machine set up charge, but we will always let you know beforehand.
