European Larch
Imported European Larch offers natural strength and a warm, refined finish, with straight grain and elegant colour tones ideal for exterior cladding.
Key properties
-
Slow-grown for strength
Harvested from cooler regions like the Alps and Black Forest, its slow growth creates a dense, durable timber ideal for outdoor use. -
Beautiful natural colour
Heartwood ranges from pale reddish-brown to rich brick-red, with a clear contrast to the lighter sapwood for a striking finish. -
Distinctive grain and texture
Straight grain, fine texture, and visible growth rings give each board a unique, characterful appearance. -
Naturally resilient
With a high resin content and moderate durability, it stands up well to knocks and scuffs – perfect for busy areas like schools, homes, and commercial spaces. -
Low-maintenance charm
Left untreated, it gracefully weathers to a soft silver-grey patina, blending beautifully into natural surroundings. -
Sustainable and reliable
Responsibly sourced from well-managed European forests, offering peace of mind and long-term performance.

Fixings
For the best results, we recommend using corrosion-resistant stainless steel fixings -A2 or A4 grade – to meet EN 10088-1 standards.
Fixings should suit the thickness of your cladding boards and provide a secure hold.
For softwood cladding, annular ring shank nails are ideal. You’ll find full installation and fixing guidance, including batten specifications, available here.
